Dr. David Ackerman, BS, D.C. practiced in central Denver from 1979 through 2003, utilizing homeopathy, herbology and acupuncture as adjuncts to chiropractic.

He studied at the University of Michigan and The National College of Chiropractic. He has a B.S. in Human Biology and Doctor of Chiropractic degrees. He was a diplomate of the American Academy of Pain Management. He trained in Applied Kinesiology in the 1970's with its founder, George Goodheart, D.C.

Dr. Ackerman studied in China as a member of an international educational exchange team in 1990. He is one of only two chiropractors to ever win the prestigious Westword Best of Denver Chiropractor's award. In 1991, he participated in an exchange of medical/acupuncture procedures in the People's Republic of China sponsored by the International Academy of Clinical Acupuncture.

Dr. Ackerman graduated in 1998 from the Barbara Brennan School of Healing. He is one of only two chiropractors ever to graduate from the Barbara Brennan School of Healing, which is a four-year program.

He has studied with other pioneers in the holistic health field such as Dr. John Christopher, herbalist; Dolores Krieger, founder of Therapeutic Touch; Dr. D. Versendaal, founder of Contact Reflex Analysis; and Dr. Scott Walker, founder of NET (Neuro-Emotional Technique). Dr. Ackerman was one of the first 50 doctors ever to be certified in Neuro-Emotional Technique.

Dr. Ackerman's training has led him to be uniquely qualified as a mind-body practitioner. He studied Reichian therapy, based on the work of Wilhelm Reich, M.D., a student of Sigmund Freud. Reich is considered the Father of Body Centered Therapy. Dr. Ackerman continued his education by studying the neo-Reichian therapy, Core Energetics, with its founder, John Pierrakos, M.D., a student of Dr. Reich. At the Barbara Brennan School of Healing, Dr. Ackerman received four years of training in individual and group healing and self-transformative techniques.

"In my current practice, pain relief is often supplemented by my facilitating patients in manifesting what they want for their health, careers, and relationships. This is accomplished with NET by clearing the limiting, unconscious "false beliefs" that were formulated after emotions got stuck in the body following trauma, disappointments and parental conditioning."
